Attacking midfielder Adel Hasnawi saved two penalties to lead Morocco Tetouan to the semi-finals of the Moroccan Football Throne Cup by winning 7-6 over its guest Morocco El Fassi, after the original and extra time ended with a goalless draw last night.
Morocco Tetouan was in trouble when goalkeeper Hamza Filali was sent off in the 118th minute and the team had finished their five changes.
Al-Hasnawi succeeded in taking Morocco Tetouan to safety in the remaining minutes. x
Mohsen El Achir missed the first penalty kick for Morocco Tetouan, while Morocco El Fassi scored the first 3 kicks.
Al-Hasnawi saved Abdel-Azim Khaddrouf’s kick, and the first 5 kicks ended in a 4-4 draw.
Each team succeeded in scoring the sixth and seventh kicks, while Al-Hasnawi saved a kick from Abdallah Diarra and Anas Lemrabat successfully executed his kick, so Morocco’s Tetouani qualified for the semi-finals.
Morocco Tetouan will play against Wydad, who crushed JS Mohamedia 4-0 on Wednesday evening.
