Milan advanced with a goal scored by Brahim Diaz in the first minute of calculated time, instead of lost for the first half, and Ante Rebic added the second goal for Milan in the 78th minute, before Vicayo Tomori scored the third goal in the 82nd minute.
Milan’s Frank Casey missed a penalty in the 58th minute.
Milan raised its score to 72 points in third place, and Juventus stopped at 69 points in fifth place, one point behind fourth-placed Napoli, the last of the qualifying places for the Champions League.
Atalanta climbed to second place in the standings with 72 points, after beating hosts Parma 5-2.
In another match, Roma swept away at Crotone 5-0, a win that raised the tally to 58 points in seventh place.
