Al-Jazeera Mubasher correspondent “Ghalia Hamad” was exposed to difficult moments, while covering the developments of events in Gaza yesterday evening, as it fell near the street where a missile was standing, the explosion of which was heard in a strong voice that was heard during her conversation with the broadcaster on the air.
While covering the developments in Gaza, Ghalia was talking about the bombing of Al-Rimal neighborhood, and she said that it is the commercial district and the market for all of the Gaza Strip, to which all residents of the Strip come.
Suddenly, an explosion was heard very close to the reporter, which made her stop talking for a while while she was talking to the broadcaster, that there was a violent bombardment that cut off electricity to all the street where she was standing.
Ghalia said that she saw the bright light that accompanied the bombing by the Israeli missile, and suggested that the bombing was in the vicinity of the Saraya area, then confirmed that she had received information that it was in the vicinity of the aforementioned area.
Amidst the sounds of violent shelling, the bright lights of rockets, the Israeli warplanes flying over the sky of Gaza and all the dangers surrounding this atmosphere, Ghalia Hamad continued her live coverage, and she said that it was artillery shelling and the constant shelling of boats.
She emphasized that the Gaza Strip is being bombed these days, especially recent days, from all directions, from aviation and the northern and eastern borders, as well as from the Israeli gunboats that are stationed off the shores of Gaza.
The correspondent clarified that the people of Gaza are living such moments of fear and terror all the time due to the violent Israeli raids, but all this has not stopped the resistance rockets that are launched from time to time towards Israeli cities and towns.
In this regard, she referred to the shelling of rockets fired by the Ezz Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – yesterday and dedicated them to the soul of the martyr of Sheikh Jarrah “Shaher Abu Khadija” who carried out a run-over operation against the occupation soldiers and was liquidated directly.
Since May 10, the Israeli occupation army has continued to launch violent raids on the Gaza Strip, targeting public facilities, civilian homes, and government institutions. These attacks have left many martyrs, including children and women.
The situation became more tense after Israel launched an aggression, with fighter jets and cannons, against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which resulted, as of Tuesday morning, in the death of 212 martyrs, including 61 children and 36 women, in addition to 1,400 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
Twenty-one Palestinians were killed and hundreds were injured in the West Bank, during clashes with the Israeli army, during which live and metal bullets and tear gas canisters were used to disperse the Palestinians
