Mutlaq bin Majid Al-Qahtani, the special envoy of the Qatari foreign minister, discussed with the Somali Prime Minister, Muhammad Husayn Rubli, in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, the bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries, and the developments of the situation in Somalia.
During the meeting, they discussed efforts to achieve national reconciliation, security and stability in the country.
Earlier this month, parliament approved the two-year extension of President Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo’s term, which sparked armed unrest in Mogadishu, as opponents of the president took control of neighborhoods in the capital.
