Nasrallah sees it as support for the resistance .. Saudi Arabia for the first time reveals a dialogue with Iran

The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, expressed his support for every Iranian international, regional or Arab dialogue, after Riyadh confirmed for the first time holding talks with Tehran, amid Israeli concern about any Saudi-Iranian rapprochement.

Nasrallah added – in a speech on the occasion of International Jerusalem Day – that this dialogue strengthens what he described as the front of friends and weakens the front of enemies, he said.

In his speech, Nasrallah indicated that the Saudi-Iranian dialogue in Baghdad has become known and is no longer a secret, and he considered the talk of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about the necessity of conducting a dialogue with Iran as a development in the regional scene in the interest of what he described as the axis of resistance.

Reuters quoted a Saudi foreign ministry official as confirming talks between the kingdom and Iran.

The Saudi official expressed his hope for the success of the talks, adding that it was too early to reach any specific conclusions.

The Saudi diplomat made clear that the talks with Iran were aimed at exploring ways to reduce tension in the region.

The New York Times recently quoted Iraqi and Iranian officials as saying that the head of Saudi intelligence last month began secret talks with a high-ranking Iranian security official in Baghdad.

On the other hand, the Israeli National Security Research Center said that the rapprochement between Riyadh and Tehran would represent a rift in the regional front against Iran in the Middle East.

The Center warned of the negative repercussions that may affect Israeli interests after the disclosure of Saudi-Iranian talks in Iraq.

A report prepared by the Center stressed the loss of the regional front, which refuses to return to the nuclear agreement with Iran, an important party due to this potential rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani welcomed, in his dialogue with Al Jazeera, any dialogue and a positive spirit in the relations of Iran and the Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, expressing his country’s support for that.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that the State of Qatar does not play the role of mediator between the United States and Iran, but believes that direct dialogue is sufficient to remove concerns between Iran and the Gulf states.
