The head of the Lebanese provisional government arrived in Doha on Sunday for an official visit to the country.
The Qatari foreign minister visited Beirut last February, during which he called on all Lebanese parties to prioritize the national interest and speed up government formation, saying Doha would support any path that would lead there.
Lebanon has suffered for months from an economic crisis and severe political polarization, as political forces have been unable to form a government since the resignation of Hassan Diab’s government, 6 days after the explosion of the Port of Beirut on August 4, 2020.
