The Palestinian and Tunisian flags were raised side by side, in all schools and teaching institutes in Tunisia, in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Also, on Monday, students of the “Sadikia” secondary school in Tunis chanted the national anthems of the two countries in solidarity with the Palestinians against the Israeli aggression.
The initiative was supervised by the education unions, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, on the first school day after the closure of schools for a week, as part of measures to combat the Corona virus.
The students of the school, which was established in 1875, observed a minute of silence in memory of the Palestinian martyrs as a result of the Israeli army aggression.
The school’s director, Afifa Abdel-Malik, told Anadolu Agency that the initiative is a “symbolic movement in solidarity with our Palestinian brothers after the Israeli escalation in recent days, which claimed dozens of lives.” She added, “It is our duty to implant our firm position on the Palestinian issue among the young.”
And she added, “Our role is to pass on faith in the Palestinian cause to our children, who are students who support and are in solidarity with Palestine, land and people.”
At the same school, Jamila Al-Jabbari, a professor of civic education, chose to open a discussion with the students about the current Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
