The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said that the Palestinian people were united with all its components and currents in the battle to defend Jerusalem, and stood in the trench of defending the sanctities.
Haniyeh added – in a speech broadcast today, Tuesday – that the Palestinian resistance forced the occupation to pull its extremists away from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing that no one can fail the battle of Jerusalem.
He pointed out that the equation of singling out the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds by the occupation and tampering with them and permitting them “is no longer acceptable to us as a people and resistance,” stressing that what Gaza has done is “a duty, and it is not correct for Jerusalem to be exposed to everything we have seen without a response from us.”
Haniyeh added that the heroes and men of the resistance in Gaza stood up to break the Israeli plan in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that what they are doing is an honor for the people and the nation, and said what Gaza has done “is a message to the Israeli occupation that enough is vain in Jerusalem.”
The head of the Hamas movement said that there is a new balance of power that started from the squares of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and that the equation of linking Gaza with Jerusalem means equating resistance with identity, explaining that Gaza, Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Palestinians of 1948 “are all moving together in a coherent and integrated canvas in order to confront the occupation.”
He added that the Palestinians in the interior are the protective wall of the city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that the Jerusalem front is the nation’s front and the free Muslims and Christians front.
Haniyeh renewed the call to all “our Palestinian people to unify the ranks” and called on the Palestinian Authority to “stop security cooperation” with the Israeli occupation.
Speaking of normalization with the Israeli occupation, Haniyeh said, “All attempts at normalization, falsification of awareness and spreading a culture of defeat, are being destroyed today on the rock of encircling Al-Aqsa.”
With regard to political moves, Haniyeh explained that he delivered a message to all mediators, that the problem is not in Gaza but rather in the occupation, so if “they (Israel) to escalate, then the resistance is ready, and if they want to stop, the resistance is ready.”
