India continued to record large numbers of infections and deaths due to the Coronavirus. While the European Union intends to allow entry of vaccinated foreign travelers, Argentina is in a critical situation as its hospitals fill up with sick patients.
Today, Monday, the Indian authorities counted 368,000 new cases of Corona, thus recording more than 300,000 injuries for the twelfth consecutive day, which raises the total number of injuries to about 20 million.
Today, 3,417 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total deaths in this country of 1.35 billion people to 218,000.
With the continuing acceleration of the epidemic – which the government of Narendra Modi accuses engineering nationalism of causing by allowing mass political and religious gatherings – last night 28 patients died in hospitals in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh due to lack of medical oxygen, according to the “ND V” TV network.
The situation remains critical in India despite the arrival of aid from Western countries, including oxygen generators, and the authorities’ speeding up oxygen supplies to the most affected areas, and in addition, the lack of vaccines caused the delay in vaccination campaigns against the Corona virus that would have started in several Indian states.
Since last January, 10% of Indian citizens have received a dose of vaccine, while the percentage of those who received two doses is only 1.5%.
And while the crisis in India continues to cause global concern, more countries, most recently Taiwan, are closing their borders to travelers from India, fearing an outbreak of the Indian mutation of the virus, which has so far reached 17 countries.

The entry of pollinators to Europe
On the other hand, the European Commission recommended today that travelers who received full doses of anti-Corona vaccines – approved by the European Union – be allowed to enter the European Union.
The Commission stated in a statement that it “proposes to allow entry into the European Union not only for people coming from countries where the epidemiological situation is good, but also for those who received the last recommended dose of vaccines approved by the European Union.” Advertising
Pakistan closes the borders
Nearby, Pakistan closed the land borders with Afghanistan and Iran, and it also reduced the number of international flights in anticipation of weeks that are crucial to limiting the spread of Corona among its citizens.
The move comes before Eid al-Fitr, which is usually accompanied by massive population movement between cities and the countryside, and the return of expatriates and workers abroad.

Difficult situation in Argentina
In Argentina, Coronavirus infections exceeded 3 million, despite the strict measures taken by the government to limit the spread of the epidemic.
This comes while medics said that hospitals are now full of people infected with Coronavirus.
On Sunday, Argentina recorded more than 11,000 new cases of the virus, in addition to 156 deaths.
Days ago, the government of President Alberto Fernandez revealed new measures that included the imposition of more stringent restrictions after the country was exposed to a second wave of the epidemic, the overcrowding of intensive care units for patients, and the setting of daily records in terms of injuries and deaths.
