Azzam al-Ahmad, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, warned of what he called “the Zionist Arab media,” which aims to spread frustration in the hearts of the Palestinians and the Arab nation.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera Mubasher, he called on the Arab nation to wake up from its slumber. He also called on the Arab regime to stop the policy of normalization with Israel and to abide by what they themselves decided that there would be neither normalization nor recognition of Israel before the Arab peace initiative was fully implemented.
Azzam al-Ahmad said that some Arab regimes issue shy statements as if it is the International Red Cross and not an Arab country sister to Palestine, stressing that the Palestinians have nothing but resistance in all forms available to them.
On the role of the American administration towards the escalation of the Palestinians’ rights, Al-Ahmad said that America is not a friend of the Palestinians and not a friend of the Arabs in general, noting that former President Donald Trump issued orders regarding relations with Israel.
He said that some Arab countries had responded to these orders and established relations with Israel and were proud of them. Indeed, some of them began attacking the Palestinians and the Palestinian people, and issuing statements with shame.
He emphasized that the Palestinians had thwarted the deal of the century after the Bahrain workshop that was organized in this regard, indicating that they had failed that scheme without anyone’s help, and made clear that everyone was pressuring him to accept the initiative.

Al-Ahmad said that US President Joe Biden’s administration has taken steps that are considered good, contrary to what was in the Trump era, including returning to the two-state solution and the position on UNRWA, but he called for international protection for the Palestinian people from Israeli aggression.
He emphasized that the Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, considers Israel a friend of America, pointing out that they do not rely much on American and international positions in this regard, despite the statements issued by them.
With regard to talking about Palestinian national unity and the need to abandon the Oslo Accords and security coordination with Israel and return to resistance, Al-Ahmad stressed that those who say this are the ones in charge of coordination with Israel.
He explained that Oslo has practically ended, and he said that they canceled all agreements and dissolved them on May 19, 2019, and said that some – he did not name them – who were repeating these words did not participate in the decision that was taken and refused to participate in it.
Azzam al-Ahmad called on the Palestinians not to listen to “the Zionist Arab media,” and warned that they want to disperse the Palestinians, and want to sow frustration and despair within the Palestinian people and the Arab nation.
In response to a question about who stands behind what he called “the Zionist Arab media,” he said that those behind this are the Zionist movement, explaining that there are Arab countries that have been drawn into this movement.
In this regard, he referred to an Arab satellite channel – he did not name it – that wrote on its news tape in which it says, “We continue to uncover the facts in Gaza, the Palestinian territories and Israel,” asking, “Is not Gaza a Palestinian land ?!”
