After the Biden administration agreed to an arms deal with Israel, Erdogan: Washington writes history with bloodstained hands

Press sources revealed that Washington agreed to a deal to sell weapons to Israel worth 735 million dollars, coinciding with the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which entered its second week.

The Washington Post said in an article published on Monday that on May 5 Congress had been formally notified of the proposed sale.

For its part, “Maariv” newspaper reported on Sunday that the administration of US President Joe Biden had agreed to sell weapons worth 735 million dollars to Israel, noting that the bulk of this deal would include “accurate missiles.”

In response to the passage of the deal by the Biden administration, Democrat Representative Ilhan Omar said that “this deal will be considered a green light for escalation and undermines ceasefire efforts.”

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized Biden’s approval of the deal, and said that Washington “is writing history with bloodstained hands,” in reference to the escalation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

In a comment today, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said during a joint press conference with his Danish counterpart in Copenhagen that Israel has the right to defend itself, but he condemned the bombing of press and medical facilities.

Since May 10, the Israeli army has continued its raids on separate areas of the Gaza Strip, targeting public facilities, civilian homes and government institutions.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of victims of the aggression rose within a week to 212 martyrs – including 61 children and 36 women – in addition to 1,400 injuries of varying severity.
